Car parking
There is a designated visitors car park opposite the hospital main entrance. You will find parking spaces for disabled drivers at the front of the hospital.
We are a 17 bedded ward nursing children under a range of specialities. We are a designated shared care unit for children with cancer who are receiving care and treatment from Alder Hey Children’s Hospital (AHCH). This means that your child can have some of their care here with us on children’s ward and still remain closer to home. We link closely with AHCH, and follow the same guidelines for care, we update the team at Alder Hey regularly on your child’s condition, especially when they are admitted to the ward.
We allocate our children receiving shared care at Alder Hey for oncology reasons a single room on admission. The single rooms have a TV and en-suite toilet (some also have a shower).
On the unit we have a play area and a teenage room. Our Play Specialist works Monday – Friday and offers support to all our children. Older Children can also access the Bridge the Gap Pod and the hospital youth worker works Monday – Friday and offers support to all our older children
We have parents kitchen facilities and shower room. Routinely meals are not provided for parent/carer however we have some items for you to help yourself to in the parents room. You can make hot drinks and take a little time out. For health and safety reasons, we ask that hot drinks are not brought onto the ward unless it is in a cup with a lid.
There is also a fridge and microwave available for use. If you are having difficulty to access food whilst you are with us please speak to your nurse.
The hospital has free public Wi-Fi which you are welcome to use (just click on Guest Nobles Patient and log in).
The hospital has both a cafe and shop the front atrium.
Just up the stairs in the fount atrium there are vending machines.
Cashpoint in the atrium.
