CCLG and TYAC eLearning

Teenagers and Young Adults with Cancer (TYAC) and Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG) have released the first in a series of eLearning units to aid the development of multiprofessionals in the early years of a career in children or teenage and young adult cancer services.

Care of the Child with Cancer – UCLAN Short Course

The post-qualifying framework (PQF) allows health and social care practitioners to continue their professional development and achieve further qualifications in their field.

UCLAN offers this module in level 6 and level 7 which provides an interesting introduction to the care of the child with cancer. The assignment allows the student to explore their particular areas of interest related to the child with cancer. Students will discuss the development of childhood cancer, the treatment and the impact on the child and family and supportive care that can be offered.

Introduction to Blood Cancer – Blood Cancer UK

The training course is designed for everyone from new starters on a haematology ward, to healthcare professionals looking to improve their knowledge of haemato-oncological concepts to care for blood cancer patients. 

Health Inequalities and Patient Experience

The Cancer Academy at Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance have developed this training package on health inequalities and patient experience. Anyone is welcome to access this via registering for an account with the Cancer Academy.

CYP Career & Education framework for CYP Nurses (2022)  

The RCN / CCLG ‘Career and Education Framework for Children and Young People Cancer Nursing’ has been extensively updated in 2022 by a working party from across the RCN / CCLG nursing Groups. The framework sets out competencies for knowledge and skills across a range of topic areas in CYP cancer care relevant to career stages. This highlights the professional development required for nurses at all levels of practice aspiring to build or maintain a career in cancer nursing.
